This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Summarizes the preparation and structure characterization of various thiosemicarbazones attached Quinoline aldehyde as well as their metal complexes. Synthesized ligands and metal complexes were characterized by different technique like mass, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV-Visible spectroscopy as well as elemental analysis. In the elemental analysis of the synthesized compound both calculated and found percentages of elements are matched so elemental analysis confirms the structure of the thiosemicarbazone. Mass spectral data confirm the structure of the ligand as indicated by the molecular ion peak (M+) corresponding to their molecular weight. In IR spectra of the synthesized thiosemicarbazone showed useful information about the structure of the compound. In the IR spectra, some significant stretching bands due to -N-H, -N-N-, -NH2 and -C=S were observed at specific frequencies. In the 1H NMR spectra, the signal due to -CH=N-, -N-NH, NH2 and aromatic protons were observed in the expected regions. The 13C NMR spectrum provides direct information about the carbon skeleton of the synthesized compound. 68 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The work presented in the Book entitled 'Stability constants of metal complexes' can be summarized as below. The practical proton-ligand and metal-ligand stability constants were determined by Calvin-Bjerrum titration technique using nitric acid and constant ionic strength was maintained with sodium nitrate. It was pointed out by Irving and Rossotti, that it is neither necessary to convert pH meter reading 'B' to stoichiometric hydrogen ion concentration nor to know the stoichiometric concentration of the neutral salt added to maintain constant ionic strength. The method is valid both in water and water-dioxane medium. The nitrate ion has very slight complexing tendency and the competition between nitrate ion and the ligand under study is of minor importance. This may be studied by comparing the stabilities of complexes of series of metal ions with a given ligand. For a given ligand, irrespective of its nature, the order of stability constants of complexes of bivalent ions of the first transition series are usually in the natural orders (some times called the Irving-Williams order). This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The work presented in the Book entitled Study on Metalloporphyrins can be summarized in analytical and physical data; spectral data are compatible with the suggested structures. The complexes are colored, stable in air and insoluble in H2O, ethanol and non-polar solvents such as benzene. However, they dissolve in polar solvents such as DMF and DMSO. IR spectra of the complexes were recorded to confirm their structures. The assignments of the characteristic vibrational frequencies of the complexes were made by comparison with the vibrational frequencies of the free ligand. The ligand behaved as neutral tetradentate ligand coordinating through the four imine nitrogens. In all Complexes the signals of the imine groups were merged together and shifted to lower wave number accompanied by a decrease in their intensities, indicating they are involved in complex formation. The UV Vis absorption spectrum of the complexes shows single d d transition band in the 554-545 nm range as expected for a square planar copper(II) environment with similar N4 donor tetradentate Schiff base. 1H NMR studies of porphyrin reveal the aromatic nature of the porphyrin macrocycle. 60 pp. Englisch.
