Nachdem seine Schlagerkarriere Mitte der 1960er-Jahre langsam zu Ende ging, widmete er sich wieder seiner eigentlichen Liebe dem Jazz und dem Blues. Einige Jahre arbeitete Ramsay auch als Dozent an der Hamburger Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst. Vorliegende Aufnahme - nur Gitarre und Gesang - wurde live im Mainzer Unterhaus aufgenommen und enthält Jazz-Standards von Duke Ellington, Erroll Garner, Fats Waller, Charlie Parker etc. Die Platte erhielt den Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik.
