In this book we presented two ways that can help in predicting metastatic cervical lymph node (CLN) images in patients with OSCC, independent on ultrasound (US) diagnostic criteria and operator expertise: 1. A Discriminant model that depends on the strongest predictive US criteria for metastasis. The model equation provides the physician a reliable probability guidance for managing cervical LN metastasis. It helps in managing controversial CLNs in patients with low-risk metastasis to be under observation rather than performing subsequent biopsies and neck dissections. 2. A Programming Code that works independently on US diagnostic criteria and operator expertise. The technique of the Code is based on the center of graph (C.O.G) in the Y axis of the histogram calculation for the node area. In questo libro abbiamo presentato due metodi che possono aiutare a prevedere le immagini dei linfonodi cervicali metastatici (CLN) nei pazienti con OSCC, indipendentemente dai criteri diagnostici ecografici (US) e dalla competenza dell'operatore: 1. Un modello discriminante che dipende dai criteri statunitensi maggiormente predittivi di metastasi. L'equazione del modello fornisce al medico una guida probabilistica affidabile per la gestione delle metastasi ai LN cervicali. Aiuta a gestire i LN controversi in pazienti con metastasi a basso rischio da tenere sotto osservazione piuttosto che eseguire biopsie e dissezioni del collo successive. 2. Un codice di programmazione che funziona indipendentemente dai criteri diagnostici statunitensi e dall'esperienza dell'operatore. La tecnica del codice si basa sul centro del grafico (C.O.G) nell'asse Y del calcolo dell'istogramma per l'area del nodo. A nostra conoscenza, questo potrebbe essere il primo studio che ha utilizzato il C.O.G dell'istogramma dell'immagine per diagnosticare le CLN metastatiche.
