Includes a brief history of African Americans in aviation (as well as a discussion of the difficulties in developing this history) and has a longer section, illustrated with many photographs, profiling living Black American aviators - listings are alphabetical and include average private pilots to leaders in the field. Large format (11" by 8 1/2), bound in brown cloth with gold lettering. Ex-library, but appears uncirculated, and aside from the usual library markings and pocket on the front endpapers, a very clean tight copy. Since this book was issued also in illustrated wrappers, presumably most, if not all, of the hardcover copies were sold to libraries.

It is comprised of 239 volumes published between 1886 and 1971, among which are numerous presentation and association copies. All books in the present collection come from the shared personal library of Ogden and Frances Nash.
