The board are a bright clean blue and the dust jacket has faded along the edges and the spine but very little wear.This is an exceptional copy. References pertaining to this work are numerous including Howes which considered this one of the "most elaborate of overland journals" but Mattes, in his Platte River Road Narratives, questions the authorship of the journal, arguing that it may have been written by another member of company.
