This anthology of Irish political writing was no doubt aimed at the Irish diaspora, with Regan's stated aim of education about the reasons Ireland desired independence. Several selections from Padraic Pearse; Regan co…nsiders him the most important source. Also several essays by the Editor. This is a Near Fine copy of the First Edition. Rare (only copies held at LOC and Trinity College Dublin). Green cloth binding, ruled, with gilt lettering on spine Clean text; 258 pages, with a "General Index" and "Collateral Reading. No publisher or city is given on the Title or Copyright Page. Copac & LOC assigns it to the Editor, in Boston. However, the last page identifies the publisher as the Harrigan Press, Worcester, so Quercus begs to differ with these authorities. There are some old flood marks at the top edge of the text, and the gilt lettering on the spine has been mainly rubbed off; but overall, this remains an extremely nice copy of this rare book. No dustjacket. In an archival plastic protector. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
