A superb and unusually well-preserved example of this early printing of a modern Christmas classic, first written in 1962 as a plea for peace during the Cuban Missile Crisis and quickly adopted into the holiday repertoire. Noël Regney (1922-2002), a French-born composer and lyricist, and Gloria Shayne Baker (1923-2008), an American songwriter and pianist, collaborated on numerous works during the 1950s-60s.
