Februar 1877." Ernst Julius Remak, in Berlin, daselbst als Sohn von Robert Remak, am "26. Mai 1849 geb., studierte in Breslau, Berlin, Würzburg, Strassburg, Heidelberg, promovierte 1870, approb. 1872, war 1873 bis 75 an der Nervenklinik der Charité Assistent von Carl Westphal, liess sich dann als Spezialarzt für Nervenkrankheiten und Elektrotherapie in Berlin nieder, habilitierte sich 1877 daselbst und erhielt 1893 den Professortitel. Er veröffentlichte seit 1874 über 50 Originalarbeiten besonders im Arch. f. Psych., D. Arch. f. kl. Med., Ztschr. f. kl. Med., D. Ztschr. f. Nervenheilk., B. kl. W., Neurol. Ctrlbl., D. med. W. Es seien genannt: »Über zeitliche Incongruenz der Berührungs- und Schmerzempfindung bei Tabes dorsalis« (1874) - »Zur Pathogenese der Bleilähmungen« - (1875) - »Über die Localisation atrophischer Spinallähmungen und spinaler Muskelatrophien« (1879, auch als Monographie erschienen) - »Über das Verhältniss der Sehnenphaenomene zur Entartungsreaction« (1885) - »Über neuritische Muskelatrophie bei Tabes dorsalis« (1887) - »Alternirende Scolioes bei Ischias« (1896) - »Zur Pathologie der Bulbärparalyse« (1892) - »Über die Definition der Entartungsreaction« (1894) - »Über die antiparalytische Wirkung der Elektrotherapie bei Drucklähmungen des Nervus radialis« (1893) - »Die neurotonische elektrische Reaction« (1896). Für Eulenburg's Real-Encyklopädie verfasste R. in drei Aufl. 1880 bis 99 die Artikel Bleilähmung, Elektrodiagnostik, Elektrotherapie, Neuritis, Radialislähmung, Spinallähmung und bearbeitete für die dritte d. Berger'schen über Beschäftigungsneurosen. Aus den schon genannten Artikeln ging hervor: »Grundriss der Elektrodiagnostik und Elektrotherapie für praktische Ärzte« (Wien 1895). In der Nothnagel'schen Sammlung XI, III. Teil, III Abt., erschien 1899: »Neuritis und Polyneuritis« I. Hälfte." Pagel, Biogr. Lex. (1901), Sp. 1362-1364. …
