This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -This work results from the literature review on quality of life and tourism areas and also from an exploratory study among residents, focusing on an emergent rural tourism area, with five small villages, in the municipality of Loul…é, located in the Algarve, one of the most internationally well-known Portuguese destinations.Exploratory data were processed through a qualitative approach and the results show that residents have consistently positive attitudes towards tourism and the perceived economical, social cultural and environmental impact influence residents' attitudes towards tourism and tourism development. Additionally residents' perceived well-being and quality of life seems to be mainly determined by factors not related to tourism phenomenon, although we can recognize some influences on the perception of tourism on this evaluation for some residents groups. This investigation adopts the residents' point of view in the assessment of their own quality of life, considering, among other variables, the material, community, emotional and health and safety well-being dimensions, the tourism development stage of the area and the importance of the perceived tourism impacts. 56 pp. Englisch.

Os dados exploratórios foram processados ¿¿através de uma abordagem qualitativa e os resultados mostram que os residentes têm atitudes consistentemente positivas em relação ao turismo e o impacto económico, social, cultural e ambiental percebido influencia as atitudes dos residentes em relação ao turismo e ao desenvolvimento turístico. Além disso, o bem-estar e a qualidade de vida percebidos pelos residentes parecem ser determinados principalmente por fatores não relacionados ao fenômeno do turismo, embora possamos reconhecer algumas influências na percepção do turismo nesta avaliação para alguns grupos de residentes. Esta investigação adota o ponto de vista dos residentes na avaliação da sua própria qualidade de vida, considerando, entre outras variáveis, as dimensões material, comunitária, emocional e de saúde e segurança, bem-estar, o estágio de desenvolvimento turístico da área e a importância dos impactos do turismo percebidos. 56 pp. Portugiesisch.
