Early owner's signature on first blank page, and underlining in pen on many pages in the first few chapters. Majority of text clean, and binding tight. Biography of the German-born missionary pastor who ministered in Pennsylvania and Maryland in the late 18th century.

Both volumes are in VERY GOOD condition showing the extremities marginally shelf rubbed, several pages with short closed tears in the right margin from opening, a neat tape repair of the last page of Vol. 2, a small spot of discoloration at the foot of the fore-edge, otherwise the bindings are strong and tight, the text is clean and unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. As pictured.

Although this has no author this is the "De Lux Supplement" to Drury's 2 Volume History of Dayton & Montgomery Country issued the same year (1909) by the same publisher (Clarke).
