Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. METHODIST MINISTERS LIFE HISTORIES BLACK RIVER & NORTHERN NY 1881. Frequently to overcome the randomness of my rather eclectic collection of books, I try to sell them in a group with a similar theme. This book will be another of a few, all vintage books, about Methodism. For your consideration then, please find a very scarce and special book, titled: Black River and Northern New York Conference Memorial, Second Series, containing Sketches of the Life and Character of the Deceased Members of the Above Conferences, Not Included in the Former Work, Brought Down to the Present Time, 1880, and Written at the Request of the above Conferences, by Rev. P. Douglass Gorrie. This book was printed for the Conferences by Charles E. Holdbrook, Printer of Watertown, N.Y., dated 1881 and a First Edition (with same date on title and copyright pages). This medium-sized hard cover book (5 ¾ x 8 ½ inches, 472 pages) is bound in dark green boards with very handsome blind-stamped and gilt decorations and titles, on cover and spine. The endpapers are decorated with a flower pattern. I will include photos of the list of the Ministers whose lives are recorded in this tome. Many of the sketches are enhanced with an engraved portraiture of the Minister in question. Condition: This vintage book is in very good condition. There is some very slight edge wear to the hard covers and a few specks of abrasions on the rear board. The corners are ever so slightly bumped as are the spine tips. Inside, the book is unmarked and although the pages are lightly age-toned, they are generally clean and bright, from cover to cover. There is some light and random foxing, on the early and late pages and in some cases on the pages near the plates. The hinges are fully intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. You will be pleased and proud to have this vintage rare book on your bookshelf.
