É importante detetar e medir este fenómeno nos pais, de forma a desenvolver intervenções que diminuam este medo e melhorem o controlo da doença da criança e a qualidade de vida da família. O objetivo geral deste estudo foi validar o Hypoglycemia Fear Survey for Parents (HFS P) em espanhol como uma ferramenta para detetar o MaH em pais e cuidadores de crianças com DM1. A metodologia utilizada foi a adaptação cultural do instrumento e a posterior análise das suas propriedades psicométricas no contexto alvo.

L'ipoglicemia frequente o grave nei bambini è stata collegata a disturbi psicologici e può anche portare allo sviluppo della paura dell'ipoglicemia (FH), descritta come una barriera che influenza il raggiungimento degli obiettivi terapeutici e l'aderenza al trattamento da parte dei bambini e della famiglia. È importante rilevare e misurare questo fenomeno nei genitori per sviluppare interventi che riducano questa paura e migliorino il controllo della malattia da parte dei bambini e la qualità di vita della famiglia. L'obiettivo generale di questo studio è stato quello di convalidare la Hypoglycemia Fear Survey for Parents (HFS P) in spagnolo come strumento per rilevare la MaH nei genitori e nei caregiver di bambini con DM1. La metodologia utilizzata è stata l'adattamento culturale dello strumento e la successiva analisi delle sue proprietà psicometriche nel contesto di riferimento.
