Perfectbound Softcover. Condizione: Fine. 176 pp. Glossy photo-pictorial wraps. 8to. Anything and everything to do with Audio or Video. Thousands of illustrations through-out catalog. All products listed with prices. It's easy to spot such 70's hi-fi icons as the Marantz receiver with ultra smooth horizontal tuning wheel, the Kenwood gear that leveraged chunky knobs, 100% aluminum surfaces, and rain forest hardwoods, and the elegance of the Garrard turntables. The technology for reproducing music electronically was still very much rooted in the realm of the mechanical in 1971 which largely explains why all the gear was so beautiful. Scarce. Worldcat doesn't come up with anything for "Sonocraft" at all. We did find it listed in the Library of Congress records of application for Copyright for 1971, and that led us to the Smithsonian Library; they have 4 Sonocraft catalogs in their Smithsonian Trade Literature Collection! This catalog is in freakishly fine condition.

Editore: Buffalo Chip, Publisher, Omaha, NE, 1968
Da: Mare Booksellers ABAA, IOBA, Dover, NH, U.S.A.
Tabloid. Condizione: Good. Tabloid newspaper format. 12 pp. Black and white photos and illustrations throughout. Front cover a collage of images featuring a photograph of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Single issue of this underground newspaper from Omaha, Nebraska. Started in 1967, the paper was banned on college campuses in the Omaha area due to its focus on civil rights, social justice, anti-war and progressive politics. As Gloria Bartek, one of the creators of the paper, notes, Buffalo Chip caused the FBI to put much of the staff under surveillance, with Omaha police assisting. One of the contributors (and coiner of the name Buffalo Chip) Dave Rice was convicted of killing a police officer with a suitcase bomb in Omaha in 1970. However, the case is controversial due to potential police cover ups, illegal police activity in the investigation, alibis of both defendants and other allegations. Rice had been part of the defunct Omaha chapter of the Black Panther Party, and was a member of an antifascist organization. This issue includes a piece on the recent assassination of Martin Luther King; a piece by Dave Rice on relationships between Black and whites, news on protests, Wallace, etc. GOOD condition. Top right corner appears to have been nibbled away. General toning and minor soiling. Fold crease present. Mailing labels and postage stamp present on the front cover.
