This element will consist of 20 questions and 5 percent credit will be allowed for each correct answer. Element II consists of 50 questions and 2 percent credit will be allowed for each correct answer. Forty of the questions in Element II are given to all candidates and are of a general nature. The remaining 10 questions are in any one of three fields (aircraft, coastal or ship radio) and the candidate is allowed to choose one of these subjects.
