Duncan Hannah was a key figure in the burgeoning New York underground arts scene, befriending Andy Warhol and his superstars, Lou Reed, Allen Ginsberg, Patti Smith, Salvador Dali, and many others. A graduate of the Parsons School of Design, his paintings were exhibited in the influential 1980 Times Square Show alongside work by Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and several of his paintings are held in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Treatment script for the key 1948 film noir. In Jaffe Agency wrappers, stamped "FILE COPY" and "JAFFE AGENCY" at the top right corner of the front wrapper. Robert Altman's first screenwriting credit (he would not direct his first feature film for another 20 years), and Richard Fleischer's first directorial effort, a tight noir second feature. Altman is credited here alongside another first-time screenwriter, George W. George, who would go on to be a prolific screenwriter, with credits for such films as "The Woman on Pier 13" (1949) and "Big House, USA" (1955). Set in Los Angeles, and an early example of a noir film with a large amount of location shooting throughout the Los Angeles area. Revised Draft script for the 1989 joint French-US short film. Attached by staple to the top corner of the title page is a small hand-written note, "Vicki," a phone number, and "Call from Space office." Copy belonging to uncredited actor Nick Dimitri, with two copies of a January 16, 1989 call sheet laid in. The 29-minute short film was the first film shot using the "Showscan" process developed by Douglas Trumbull , which is photographed and projected on 70mm film at 60 frames per second (2.5 times the standard film speed), and was only screened twice in 1989, once at the "Big Bang Schtroumpf" amusement park, now "Walygator Parc," in Maizières-les-Metz, France, and once at the Omnimax Theatre at Ceasars Palace, Las Vegas. A film director (Richard Brestoff) and his nephew (Bill Campbell), an aspiring actor and eccentric inventor, make a low-budget science fiction film, when one of the nephew's inventions begins to bring visitors from the past and future into the present, including Napoleon, Archimedes, and cavemen, making what they believe may be one of the greatest movies ever made. Featuring a cameo from James Coburn as an irate studio head, and the voice of Charlton Heston as an alien visitor. Director Richard Fleischer's final film. To our knowledge, snapshot-size reference photographs were utilized only by Twentieth Century-Fox, during a period roughly between 1940-1965, and are very scarce, particularly in the keybook format. Based on Samson Raphaelson's 1925 play, which also served as basis for a 1927 film starring Al Jolson and a 1952 film starring Danny Thomas. The acting debut of Neil Diamond, whose soundtrack for the film was much better received than the film itself, selling over five million copies and reaching number three on the pop albums chart in the US.
