The author was not a scholar and took his information from other sources, primarily British. Small quarto, 10 1/4" tall, xiv + 85 + [approx 1000 pages unpaginated, full leather. A fair copy only overall; interior generally fair, paper yellowed but generally supple with moderate foxing throughout, internal binding relatively solid, but many pages 'pulled' and many edge tears present, some pages further foxed by the use of the book to press flowers; exterior leather binding is significantly worn and chipped, leather disintegrating and powdering, back strip completely missing, rubbing at all extremities with boards exposed, front hinge broken and cover loose. Restoration would be difficult but still useful as is.…
