Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. Volume has bayish and crimson cloth covers with gold lettering on the spine and the emblem of a cow in a triangle on the front cover. Dust jacket is protected in an archival quality (Brodart) jacket. At the base of the spine the dust jacket is chipped and a small piece less than a 1/4 of an inch wide and deep is missing; this is the reason for the condition downgrade of the dust jacket. Otherwise, the book and dust jacket are perfect. 289 pages. This is the biography of a controversial individual of the late 19th and early 20 centuries. To some homesteaders he was a cattle baron who sought control of Sandhills land they hoped to farm. To others he was a leader of Nebraska's early livestock industry who more clearly understood the capabilities of the land. A very nice copy.
