Asimov is addressing the active California fan Rick Sneary, who was apparently trying to get Asimov to either attend a Con or donate a manuscript to the benefit auction. Asimov… replies "Impossible for me to be there, as you've guessed. Also, alas, impossible for me to contribute anything to the auction. Everything conceivable--down to first draft, and scribbled notes--goes to Boston University. In fact, your letter will go there and your request will be immortalized and my curator will send me an anxious letter reminding me that nothing must go anywhere else." Sneary's response is good humored and he notes that Asimov's rejection note will be donated to the auction, and suggests that his curator should come out and bid for it. Both the original Asimov and the carbon Sneary are in fine condition. Signed.
