In order to do so, I will first engage in the theoretical framework, for example the definitions of youth and peacebuilding. After that, I will make the case in favor of the empowerment of youth by looking at 1) the very nature and characteristics of the social category that is youth and 2) the practical considerations that speak for empowering youth. In order to illustrate my argument, I will then point out why it is important to focus on youth in the exemplary case of post-conflict Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Lastly, in the concluding remarks, I will consider what implications the findings might or should have for the future of youth in post-conflict societies.On the 9th of December 2015, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) unanimously adopted a resolution. With that, the UNSC did not only acknowledge the potential of young people as active and positive contributors to peace and stability; it also tried to open up more possibilities in order to further empower youth to take part in the political processes within their respective countries.While so far young people have often been marginalized in post-conflict settings and their potential to contribute to the creating or maintaining of peace has mostly been overlooked, Resolution 2550 sets a new focus and thus seems to mark a shift in the perception of youth. Youth's potential in becoming active and positive agents of building peace remains untapped if they are marginalized both in the academic and political context. Thus, the main aim of this essay is to show why it is of crucial importance to change the perception of youth in post-conflict societies and empower them to make a difference.

With the latter statement, Gauck undermined the protest of thousands of demonstrators in the city of Stuttgart who had been engaging in acts of civil disobedience out of frustration about a large-scale construction project on the city's main train station-a project which they perceived to be neither economically nor ecologically reasonable, nor sufficiently legitimized democratically. These attention-grabbing movements receiving harsh judgements of high state representatives such as Gauck reignited the public debate about the justification of civil disobedience in Germany-a debate that is of everlasting importance among theoretical examinations.Whereas within this debate it is largely beyond question that citizens of unjust and corrupt states with no legitimately established authority clearly have the right to (even more drastic forms of) resistance, the real challenge lies in answering the following question: How, that is to say, on which grounds and under which circumstances, can illegal means of protest be justified in a prima facie legitimate state.

Das bedeutet eine Gegenüberstellung der divergierenden Legitimationsinstanzen in Kapitel 2 und eine Betrachtung der verschiedenen Legitimationsebenen in Kapitel 3, das heißt, der (erzähltheoretischen) Mittel, durch die versucht wird, Legitimität zu erzeugen oder zu entkräften. Im Anschluss daran werden ausführlich die verschiedenen Argumentations- beziehungsweise Legitimationsstrategien anhand der vier Hauptvertreter - Eneas und Latinus auf der einen, die Königin und Turnus auf der anderen Seite - und anhand für die Herrschaftsfrage maßgeblicher Szenen (die Episode der Flucht aus Troja, die Ankunft in Italien, der Zweikampf, etc.) beleuchtet. Die vorliegende Arbeit beinhaltet eine Betrachtung des Eneasromans anhand dieser Aspekte. Wenngleich aufgrund des begrenzten Umfangs keinesfalls alle Details erfasst werden können, so besteht doch der Anspruch, einen ergiebigen Einblick in die Darstellung von Herrschaftslegitimation zu bieten.Infolgedessen gliedert sich die Arbeit wie folgt: In den ersten beiden Kapiteln werden legitimatorische Konzepte dargestellt, mit denen im weite-ren Verlauf gearbeitet werden soll. Das bedeutet eine Gegenüberstellung der divergierenden Legitimationsinstanzen in Kapitel 2 und eine Betrachtung der verschiedenen Legitimationsebenen in Kapitel 3, das heißt, der (erzähltheoretischen) Mittel, durch die versucht wird, Legitimität zu erzeugen oder zu entkräften. Im Anschluss daran werden ausführlich die verschiedenen Argumentations- beziehungsweise Legitimationsstrategien anhand der vier Hauptvertreter ¿ Eneas und Latinus auf der einen, die Königin und Turnus auf der anderen Seite ¿ und anhand für die Herrschaftsfrage maßgeblicher Szenen (die Episode der Flucht aus Troja, die Ankunft in Italien, der Zweikampf, etc.) beleuchtet.
