This is a compilation of several newspaper sketches of Mississippi's military contributions to the Civil War effort. Some regiments are covered in chronological order with muster rolls, lists of engagements, and narrative reports, when available. While certainly not a complete state history, this primary source material has value and should not be overlooked. A comprehensive new index has been added to this reprint edition.
