This publication, which grew out of an application to the California Historic Resources Commission for designation of the Malibu Lagoon State Beach as the site of Cabrillo's town of canoes, covers the controversy over the site, includes pertinent excerpts from the Paez account of the Cabrillo voyage, and the development of the argument that Malibu Lagoon was the site of the town.
