Quale ruolo gioca oggi la cultura per lo sviluppo dei sistemi locali "Ci sono le condizioni per parlare di impresa culturale" È a partire da queste domande che si sviluppa la riflessione sul contributo delle competenze del design e della tecnologia nell'ambito dei processi di valorizzazione dell'identità territoriale, del paesaggio e del patrimonio culturale diffuso, materiale e immateriale. Sostenibilità, partecipazione e identità sono alla base di ogni azione di sviluppo locale. All'interno di questi paradigmi, la pianificazione esprime un chiaro orientamento alla sperimentazione di nuovi approcci per il governo del territorio, in chiave di strategia, integrazione, multiscalarità e partecipazione attiva dei soggetti per il raggiungimento di obiettivi comuni. In questa direzione si promuovono quindi la formazione di reti e la definizione di strumenti di governance per creare consenso attorno alle scelte dell'operatore pubblico, superando il rapporto spesso conflittuale tra conservazione e fruizione delle risorse, a partire da una definizione dell'assetto proprietario del patrimonio ambientale e culturale - riconosciuto come bene della collettività da trasmettere alle generazioni future - e quindi alle assunzioni di responsabilità per la sua tutela e valorizzazione. Sono questi i principi sottesi all'ecomuseo, possibile risposta locale alla complessità dei processi di trasformazione globali. Sebbene non esista una definizione assiomatica di ecomuseo, è forte la necessità di fissare linee guida, sistemi di accreditamento condivisi per un riconoscimento scientifico e giuridico, nonché standard minimi di servizio che sappiano porre l'accento sugli aspetti locali dei contesti. Sulla base di queste considerazioni si struttura la proposta di trasferire i principi del metaprogetto - strumento nato nell'ambito di disciplinare della tecnologia dell'architettura per lo sviluppo e la gestione dei progetti edilizi, successivamente esteso al campo del design dell'oggetto, e oggi declinato come metodo, ossia come governo di un processo - alla gestione strategica del processo di definizione, creazione e sviluppo dell'ecomuseo, che possa costituire un valido supporto all'Ente promotore per governare il percorso realizzativi e gestionale. Il testo documenta l'attività di ricerca svolta nell'ambito del Dottorato in Design e tecnologie per la valorizzazione dei beni culturali, del Politecnico di Milano, coordinato dal prof.
