Hardcover, Slipcased. Condizione: New. Condizione sovraccoperta: None issued. Ed Binkley (illustratore). 1st Edition. Signed limited edition - Number 44 of 250 copies in a quarter leather binding with cloth sides. The leather is goatskin from the Alran Tannery in France. The Alran tannery has been producing some of the finest goat leather for over 100 years. The grain has a natural buffed texture similar to suede that adds a beautiful depth to the leather. The European cloth has a uniquely crinkled surface and features a foiled leather label which is inset into the front cover. Head & tail bands are handmade with goatskin and endsheets are Hahnemühle Bugra. The edition is printed on Mohawk Via Laid and is published in two volumes with a tipped in fold-out of the Classic edition dust jacket art. It is housed in a cloth covered clamshell enclosure with velour lined floors and is signed by Robert McCammon & Ed Binkley. Winner of the 1988 Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel, Swan Song is Robert McCammon's gripping post-apocalyptic novel that weaves a tale of survival, hope, and the battle between good and evil. Set in a world devastated by nuclear war, the story follows a diverse cast of characters as they navigate the treacherous landscape of a ruined America, fighting for their lives and the future of humanity. Among these survivors are Sister Creep, who stumbles upon a mysterious and transformative glass relic amidst the ruins of Manhattan; Joshua Hutchins, a former wrestler seeking refuge from the radioactive fallout in a remote Nebraska gas station; and Swan, a young girl blessed with extraordinary powers, whose journey with Joshua leads them to a Missouri town where restoration and hope might begin through her gifts. Yet, the ancient malevolent force responsible for the world's devastation is on a relentless quest to recruit the wounded for its dark army. In this desolate landscape teeming with grotesque beasts and pillaging armies, the last vestiges of humanity are drawn into a cataclysmic struggle between good and evil?one that will seal the fate of humankind. First published in June 1987, Swan Song was the first novel of Robert McCammon's to appear on the New York Times best-seller list. Critics praised its pace and prose, with Publishers Weekly calling it "broad and compelling? a long, satisfying look at hell and salvation," while Rave Reviews praised the novel as "distinctive and engrossing?you'll wish there were more of Swan Song." In his chilling vision of a post-apocalyptic world, Robert McCammon masterfully constructs a compelling tale that captures the catastrophic impact of nuclear conflict, the ensuing terror, and the fragile hope for humanity's redemption. Signed by Author and Illustrat.

About the Editions Our edition of Swan Song by Robert McCammon is presented in three states: Classic, Numbered and Lettered. The editions measure 6" x 9" and feature ten full color illustrations by award-winning artist Ed Binkley, as well as a new exclusive introduction by the author. Also included are fourteen black & white section drawings charting the movement of Swan's journey in the story. The half title, title, contents and chapter pages are printed with an additional spot color. Interior design & typography is by award-winning designer Jason Dewinetz. The text type is Albertan, designed by Jim Rimmer. Originally cut and cast as a new metal type by Rimmer himself, Albertan was later developed and expanded into a multi-weight OpenType digital font (Canada Type). The editions are printed by offset lithography on Cougar Natural and Mohawk Via Laid papers and all states are signed by the author & artist.
