The jacket is edgeworn and heavily dampstained; stains have bled through to cover of book. Otherwise, text unmarked and binding tight. Advice for newspaper writers on creating effective headlines and articles. This copy is inscribed by Garst to Lawrence Hauck, his fellow editor at the New York Times. Larry Hauck (1912-2000) started at the Times as a copy editor in 1948. By the 1960s he had worked his way up to assistant news editor, serving mainly as the overnight and weekend editor. He was promoted to full editor in 1976 and retired the following year. Signed. …
