They list the names, occupations and family relationships of hundreds of Glasgow citizens during the period. They describe property transferred by sale, inheritance or other conveyance. They record the names of many streets and smaller lanes which were later lost during the development of the city. The abstract calendar is a valuable resource for family historians, placename scholars, economic and social historians and local historians.
