Third Revised Draft, dated May 1, 1979, of the script for the 1980 Stuart Rosenberg film starring Robert Redford as a newly arrived prison warden who attempts to clean up a corrupt and violent penal system. It was nominated for the Best Original Screenplay at the 1981 Academy Awards. This is Jack Hirshberg's copy, with the iconic film publicist's signature or printed name on the first page of some of the revisions. Quarto: [292] pp. A rainbow script, photomechanically reproduced on the recto of standard pink, green, white, yellow, and blue stock. The printed green paper front wrapper and plain blue rear wrapper are bound with two brass brads. Short closed tear to the left edge of the front wrapper, just above the top brad; otherwise very good.

Draft script for the 1952 television episode (though the exact episode is unknown to us). Copy belonging to actor Jack Naughton, with his annotations in manuscript ink and pencil throughout, denoting dialogue. "Hollywood Screen Test" ran from 1948 through 1953 on ABC, hosted first by Bert Lytell and then Neil Hamilton. The show featured largely unknown actors alongside more established screen and stage actors in half-hour scenes, with the intention of giving the up-and-coming actors their first big screen break. Self wrappers. Title page present, dated March 5, 1951, with credits for director Richard Depew, screenwriter Alton Alexander, and others. 45 leaves, with last page of text numbered 43. Rainbow Revision Draft script for the fifth and final episode of the 1978 mini-series, which aired on NBC on May 15, 1978. Laid in are three Shooting Call sheets, two copies of one dated December 16, 1977, and one dated December 20, 1977. Based on the 1971 novel by Arthur Hailey and starring Rock Hudson and Lee Remick, the five part 1978 NBC mini-series, which aired on May 7-9, and 14-15, was an insider's look at the day-to-day operations of National Motors, a large, fictitious US automobile manufacturer, and was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe award. Set in late 1960s Detroit. Front wrapper integral with title page, dated July 15, 1977, with credits for screenwriter Robert Hamilton and author Arthur Hailey. 110 leaves, with last page of text numbered 106. Mimeograph duplication on pink leaves, rectos only, with blue, yellow, green, pink, and white revision pages throughout, dated variously between 10/7/77 and 10/26/77. The second film in the long-running multimedia franchise, incorporating six feature films, a television series, video games, comic books, novels, toys, and even an amusement park ride. While the first film is arguably the most profitable low budget film ever made, the sequel was the first with a production budget of over 100 million dollars, featuring groundbreaking CGI and practical effects, becoming one of the highest grossing R-rated films of all time.
