From the collection of Larry Swan with his name and address dated 1945 penned to the upper corner of the FFEP otherwise no owner marks or writing on any pages. Swan was a California scientist & climber who was on the first American Makalu expedition in 1954. The book measures 258mm tall x 157mm, and has 280 pages, index, 4 folding maps (one in rear pocket), illustrated EPs. Robert Barret was an American geographer and his wife Catherine was an American author of children's books. They traveled to many remote regions worldwide between 1913 & 1930. There is some foxing to the endsheets, half-title and last index page else the text is very good and clean. The maps are in very good condition with light wear. There are actually two copies of the map in the rear pocket of the book. Foreign postage extra on this heavy book. Inscribed by Author(s).
