Fotografia

A Quaker schoolteacher moves to Wyoming, where she plans to establish a school for settler children, only to have her plans waylaid by a corrupt tycoon. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Prima edizione
4to. 113, [1] pp. Text illustrations. Colour-illustrated softcovers, cover art by Scott with man fighting alien holding ray gun, yapp fore-edges (uniform light interior toning as usual, minor shelfwear, small closed tear front cover upper corner, 1st leaf, minor creasing to fore-edge front cover, slight dustsoiling), still G- copy. First edition of this very scarce installment of the 5th issue after the pulp was established by Western Publishing in 1938, and would also spawn Marvel Comics in 1939. The pulp was notorious for its mildly erotic approach over only five total issues. This issue featured Kummer's "Dark Invasion," Miller's "Hour of Judgemet," and Vincent's "Lightning Strikes Once.".
