The book was originally published in Italian in 1995 under the title "Giornale di Viaggio in Egitto, Inaugurazione del Canale di Suez". Translation into French by Nicole Sels; transcription of the original manuscript and notes by Alberto Siliotti and Alain Vidal-Naquet. The author lived from 1830-1917 and was an invitee to the inauguration of the Suez Canal in 1869. Bright red boards with gilt decoration and titles to front board and to spine. Matching red slipcase which is slightly scuffed to front cover. Text in French.
