East Village Other was an underground newspaper from New York (duh), known for its early embrace of the counterculture and counterculture aesthetics, often using absurdist pieces to provide social commentary. As…an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb (not in this issue) and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with the usual movement, music, drug and counterculture musings, etc. With a full page comix by Kim Deitch and Spain Rodriguez; a piece on the Who; a printing of a short letter from Emmett Grogan of the Diggers, etc. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning. A few small tears and creases along the edges. A few spots of staining. Some ink smudges to the covers. Mailing label on the upper front cover.
