Avec une belle dedicace de l'auteur. N° 20 de 25 exemplaires sur papier Japon. Roger Desaise, poète belge d'expression française, compose dans 'Cantate… des sept portes' un long poème polyphonique où le motif des portes sert de fil conducteur symbolique. Le texte explore successivement plusieurs « portes » - métaphores d'étapes initiatiques, d'épreuves et de révélations - en mêlant références mythologiques, tonalités lyriques et élans dramatiques. La forme polyphonique suggère des voix multiples : choeur, narrateur et figures mythiques qui se répondent, créant un mouvement rituel et musical. Le ton se rapproche du symbolisme (inspirations mallarméennes et néo-classiques) et vise à provoquer une expérience contemplative plutôt qu'une narration linéaire. On y trouve des images de lumière et d'ombre, du langage allusif, et un souci de la sonorité et du rythme qui font de l'ensemble une pièce conçue pour la lecture à voix haute autant que pour la lecture privée. Roger Jean-Baptiste Jules Desaise (né le 20 juin 1895 à Montigny-le-Tilleul - décédé en 1960 à Charleroi) fut un poète, pédagogue, philosophe et dramaturge belge d'expression française. Instituteur de formation, il anima pendant des décennies des rencontres littéraires et publia divers recueils et pièces dramatiques. Disciple du milieu symboliste belge, il fréquenta et estima des figures comme Albert Mockel et montra une forte admiration pour Stéphane Mallarmé. Parmi ses oeuvres figurent notamment des poèmes publiés dans Les Cahiers du Nord, des tragédies en vers (Jason, Polyxène) et des recueils tels que 'Limbes du temps' et 'La halte éblouie'.

C'est le Mockel "de l'Académie Mallarmé" qu'il voudrait voir au sommet du numéro des Cahiers du Nord, entièrement consacré à lui, avec "d'autres études d'écrivains belges et d'écrivains français parmilesquels Gide, Fontainas, Larbaud, Mondor [.]".Desaise demande à Charpentier de participer également à ce numéro. 20 mars 1948. L.D.S. RogerDesaise et Nestor Miserez demandent à Henry Charpentier d'écrire un article de 175 lignes de 50 signes maximum "traitant du point de vue - Mallarmé et le verbe -", pour la revue desCahiers du Nord, toujours sur la recommandation d'AndréFontainas. On joint une L.D.S. deNestor Miserez. Charleroi, 7 mai 1948. 1 p. in-8.En-tête rouge des "Cahiers du Nord".
