The Lincoln and Wellands trace their heritage back to the loyalist regiment Butler's Rangers, from the American Revolutionary War. After settling in Upper Canada and founding Lincoln County, the renamed Lincoln Militia fought in the War of 1812. After the Upper Canada Rebellion, the Battalions were split into the Lincoln and Welland Battalions respectively, but were recombined after the First World War. They landed in Normandy in 1944 with the 4th Canadian Armoured Division and earned 18 Battle Honours in Northwest Europe. The Appendices include lists of C.O.s, Allocation of men of the C.E.F.
