They do not seem akin to Indians in India, nor are they like Caribbean Creoles, or mixed-race Caribbeans. The volume consists of ten articles thematically grouped in three parts: Part1: One chapter presents primary archival evidence as a resource to digitize the locations of slavery's uncommon perpetrators, merchants and slave owners throughout Europe. Two chapters examine Diaspora communities; one looks at the integration of historical Indian communities or Hindustanis in Suriname and in the Netherlands while the other considers modern attempts at maintaining ties to Andean countries in the hope of bolstering co-development strategies for the future.
