É talvez pouco acurada, mas antes isso mil vezes porque não cança, nem enfastia o leitor. Voltando porém ao auctor dos Principios, ninguem poderá negar que elle não tenha razões mais que sutficientes pare dar se por satisfeito do resultado do seu trabalho. O Governo mandou lhe estampar a obra na Imprensa Nacional, entregando lhe metade da edição, que foi de seiscentos exemplares; e apenas impresso o tomo I, para logo o remunerou com a Commenda da Ordem de Christo «em attenção ao serviço que fez ao paiz com aquella publicação.
