Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked. ~CC~ The author gives the genealogy of the family of David Hillhouse, his wife, Sarah Hillhouse, and their son, David Hillhous…e. All three were printers in the first two decades of the nineteenth century in Washington, Georgia. As early as 1801, David Hillhouse maintained a printing press and was publishing a newspaper, the first in the backcountry of the new Ceded Lands in Georgia. This study compliment's the author's work on early printing in Georgia, Printing in Washington, Georgia, Wilkes County with a Checklist of Nineteenth Century Imprints (RR Books 2000).
