Hardcover. Condizione: New. Condizione sovraccoperta: New. 1st Edition. Presumed Reality documents Ebbe Stub Wittrup's most recent photographic series, which takes as its starting point a collection of found photographs of vacationers hiking in Norway and Switzerland. Wittrup treated each photographs digitally, manipulating foregrounds, backgrounds and human features, for a stereoscopic effect that is both captivating and disorienting.

This lively catalog featuring work from three separate exhibitions, each of which initiates a particular relationship to the observer. Real Time Wind is an installation exploring space and wind, while In My Garden consists of videostills depicting various trivial everyday activities, through a strange and often completely surreal approach. Uncontrolled, an intriguing installation exploring light among other themes, plays on the idea that ôuncontrolledö implies the opposite of controlled, but does not mean out of control., English w/ Danish & Hungarian summaries, Year2001, Illust. No notes or highlighting. See images. Fantastic book. About the book >.>.> That Artebjerg's work is concerned with childhood is self-evident. Not only do the figures she depicts often look childlike, but they are befriended by animal familiars like the protagonists of fairy tales and cartoons. We can allow this childlike aspect to charm us but that does not mean that as viewers we can curselves afford to adopt a false naivete in our own approach to the pain- tings. What would constitute such a naive approach? Two possibilities either to approach the paintings with an affected innocence, as if they were inviting sos to play some beguiling but inconsequential game with them, or to approach them in the pompous spirit of a pretentious maturity that imagines that it is above all these childish concerns. One approach misses the point as much as the other although at least the first might be more fun. But either one would miss the subtle ambivalence of the work. That's the perspective that allows one to enser the work as perhaps its maker did-in a s.

Soft cover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fine. First Edition. A crisp Fine copy in a Fine dust jacket. Signed by Manford in 2002 on the title page. 66pp., 23 color illustrations. Manford's color photographs of interior and exterior spaces are strictly composed and adhere to the most formal Renaissance principles of composition and the Golden Triangle. An essay by critic Rune Gade discusses the validity and semiotics of color photography in relation to the history of the medium. Contemporary yet classic! Winner of the Cultural Ministry's photographic book prize1996. These saturated color images have a quiet sense of dignity and beauty that simply radiates from the page. Having spent time photographing on both sides of the Atlantic, Manford chose subject matter that ranges from lush seascapes to boardwalk architecture to forgotten western American outposts. A highly recommended volume. Signed by Author(s).

This collection of Tim J°rgensenÆs photographs on sight reveals his extraordinary eye for beauty in the commonplace. In the Introduction Rune Gade states, ôA distinctive evenness pervades these photographs, and attaches to vision rather than to place. In that sense, the photographs are as much about a mode of seeing as about specific locations, despite the fact that, on the face of it, the places come across as the main point. The take on them, however, is at once both quotidian and prosaic, uncommon and esoteric. As though they were visions.ö, English/Danish, YearNo Year, Illust. B/W0, Illust. First Edition, 2012. 120 pages. Book measures 7.25 x 9.75 inches. Errata Editions Books on Books No. 16. Black cloth with color photograph of cover of the original publication affixed to front cover. This is the limited edition version from the Errata Editions Books on Books series. Near Fine. A clean copy in solid binding. "Photographed in a small pub in Drum, Ireland, on a single evening and with only a few rolls of film (and a rumored "five pints of Guinness"), Krass Clement (born 1946) created one of the most important contributions to the contemporary Danish photobook. His 1996 Drum opens in a darkening and foggy town, with a workday ending and some men heading off for a drink. Through subtle shifts in focus and a masterful filmic sequencing, the book comes to concentrate on one principal character in the shadowy pub: a hunched, weather-beaten old man sitting alone with his drink. Drum is a quiet, dusky meditation on community, the outsider, alienation and the terrors of being alone. A virtually unobtainable and therefore highly sought-after photobook, Clement's masterwork is here reproduced in full, accompanied with an essay by photo historian Rune Gade.".
