Curated by Ryszard (Richard) Wasko, this was the largest modern art exhibition in Poland at that time, featuring artists such as: Sol Lewitt, Taka Iimura, Tomasz Konart, Antoni Mikolajczyk, Dóra Maurer, Pawel Kwiek, Kazuo Katase, Maurizio Nannucci, Fred Sandback, Les Levine, Richard Nonas, Paul Sharits, Peter Downsbrough, David Rabinowitch, Jozef Robakowski, Ed Ruscha, Carl Andre, among many others. This special issue includes an interview with Richard Wasko, detailing the exhibition's aims and intentions. Solidarno (meaning 'Solidarity'), founded 1980, was the first independent labour union in a Soviet-bloc country, later blossoming into a broad anti- authoritarian social movement with great cultural impact.
