Hardcover. Association copy with letter. 22pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] Green cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the front cover and elaborate black ink and blind stamped designs on the covers. Good. The covers are rubbed and gently bumped. The underlying boards are just beginning to peek through at a couple of the corners. There is a portion of a small paper label on the spine. There is a tiny split in the cloth along the front joint. There is a gift inscription on the front pastedown. The text block is cracked at p. 9. The letter is in very good condition, with light folds through the intersection. Alfred Lambourne has written his name, along with a date and location, in pencil on the front free endsheet. Sold with a letter warmly presenting the book to Heber J. Grant. Heber J. Grant was the seventh President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Alfred Lambourne was born in England and subsequently moved to the American West with the Mormon pioneers. He is most remembered for his paintings, but he also wrote short fiction for Mormon periodicals.
