Chandler was assistant physician with Woodward from 1833-42, first Superintendent of the New Hampshire Asylum for the Insane (Concord) 1842-45 and returned to Worcester to serve as Superintendent until 1856. Jennison was also Treasurer to the American Antiquarian Society.
