Ferner wird die "Grundgrammatik" des Surzyk präsentiert, das heißt, es geht um grammatikalische Aspekte jener Basisvarietät, die vom Autor als "Prototyp" bezeichnet wird. Der Autor gliedert die Dialekte und ihre Einflussgebiete und untersucht das Verhältnis zwischen generalisierten Dialektmerkmalen und dem Surzyk jener Dialektgebiete, die Gegenstand dieser Arbeit sind (die Regionen Cernihiv und Charkiv sowie Kyjiv). Darüber hinaus versucht er zu beweisen, dass einige im Surzyk wiederkehrende Formen (Lexeme, Konstruktionen und Redewendungen) schon Bestandteile älterer Sprachstufen des Ukrainischen waren.
