Half-Leather. Condizione: Near Fine. No Jacket. Senior, Frank M., Warren, Calvin H. (illustratore). Attractive early edition. Gilt page tops. Bound in half green leather with 5 raised band. I believe this is an original binding produced by the American Publishing Co. given the gilt to the top edges of the text block. Binding is in beautiful condition with just a bit of fading to the back strip. Gilt title bright with no loss. Text block tight and complete. No marks whatsoever. All early editions of this bear substantial prices, probably because it is well known for its description of fingerprinting, and because this technique is used by Twain to solve a crime. Photos on request.
