Nach Gyldén wurden der Asteroid (806) Gyldénia und der Mondkrater Gyldén benannt. Im Jahr 1878 erhielt er die Cothenius-Medaille der Leopoldina . ), der er für die Übersendung der letzten Arbeit seines unvergeßlichen Freundes dankt, speziell die Tafeln von Prof. Gylden, die er abschließen will.
