Av de tre inlämnarna var det Edvard Gyldenstolpe, som rodde hem medaljen. Jakob Albrekt von Lantingshausen (1699-1769) var militär, deltog redan som 17-åring i Karl XII:s norska fälttåg. 1723-46 befann han sig i fransk krigstjänst och återvände sedan till Sverige, där han ägnade sig åt politik för hattarna tills han fick ansvaret för pommerska kriget 1757, varefter han sade upp sig från militär tjänst.
