1968, . , , [1916-1969]. - Dankt Josef Wesely für ihm übersandte Geburtstagswünsche. - Seit 1952 Kompositionslehrer an der Wiener Musikakademie, seit 1956 auch Professor, verband Schiske in seinem kompositorischen Schaffen Einflüsse von Schönberg, Paul Hindemith und Strawinsky mit dem polyphonen Stil der Niederländer. Von seinem… mit Ausnahme der Oper alle Gattungen umfassenden Werk war das Oratorium "Vom Tode" (1948) besonders erfolgreich. "Meisterhaftes satztechnisches Können, strenges Gefühl für formale Ordnung und starke Betonung des Kontrapunktischen sind die hervorstechendsten Eigenschaften seines Stils" (MGG XI, 1734f.).
