(Index in Lat., Dt., Französ., Englisch), 1 Bl. (Verlagsanzeigen). OLn. (schiefergrau; etwas bestossen u. berieben, kl. Flecken a. Vorderdeckel; wenig störend) mit farb. Deckeltitel u. buntem Sujet (Medaillon mit Bergen, darunter Alpenblumen) u. vergold. Rückentitel, florale Vorsätze (Edelweiss-Muster). Schnitt u. Textseiten unterschiedlich etwas stockfleckig, die Tafeln wohl papierbedingt sauber. Etwas Alters- u. Gebrauchsspuren. Gesamthaft recht ordentliches Exemplar. Diese (wohl: unveränderte) Ausgabe nicht in SNB. - Erstmals wohl 1889 (früheste Ausgabe in der SNB). Die 9. verbesserte Auflage war 1904 erschienen, die 10./11. Aufl. wohl 1908, die 14.u. 15. Doppel-Aufl. erschien 1912. Das Vorwort in der vorliegenden Ausgabe ist dasjenige zur 9. Auflage. In der Verlagsanzeige wird Schröters Buch ?Das Pflanzenleben der Alpen? von 1908 annonciert. - Noch relativ frühe Ausgabe. Die ?Taschenflora? war ein äusserst erfolgreiches Werk und wurde bis weit ins 20. Jahrhundert (teilweise in bearbeiteter Form) immer wieder neu aufgelegt (z.B. 29. Auflage 1963), wobei jedoch schon bald auf (zumindest bei den früheren Auflagen: recht guten) Offsetdruck umgestellt wurde. Die hier mit dezentem Glanz gedruckten farbigen Lithographien von: [Lithographische Anstalt] Werner u. Winter, Frankfurt. a.M. - ?Die alpine Flora ist nicht etwa eine blosse Abschwächung, eine Verkümmerung der Ebenenflora, hervorgerufen durch die ungünstigen Temperaturverhältnisse. Im Gegenteil, es treten uns hier neue, eigenartige, in ihrer Weise ebenso kräftig und üppig entwickelte, in ihren Blüten aber ganz besonders fesselnde Erscheinungen entgegen. [.] Es ist eine lockende, eine lohnende Aufgabe, sich in das Studium der Hochgebirgsflora zu vertiefen! Sie ist mit Recht der Liebling der Pflanzenfreunde geworden.? (etc., C.
