Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is an exploration of the history of the German civil guardianship system, known as the Vormundschaft, from its medieval origins to its modern iterations. It offers a detailed view of the legal principles underlying the system, and traces how these were tested and reinterpreted over time. While it provides a wealth of information on the Vormundschaft system, it also sets it within the context of comparative law, particularly the system of Vormundschaft as practiced in Prussia. The author draws on research across multiple disciplines including history, law, and sociology to depict the Vormundschaft within its full social and legal context. The book demonstrates the legal influence of neighboring countries on the development of Prussian Vormundschaft law and illuminates the complex system of family relationships and legal rights that shaped the Vormundschaft. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
