Juni 2015 in Großschweidnitz vorgestellten neuesten Forschungsansätze und -ergebnisse zur Geschichte der NS-»Euthanasie«… in Sachsen.Inhaltlicher und zeitlicher Rahmen des Bandes ist die Phase der »dezentralen Euthanasie«, in der Ärzte und Schwestern, die ihnen anvertrauten Patienten durch überdosierte Beruhigungsmittel und/oder systematische Unterernährung töteten. Dieser Mord geschah regionalisiert, in allen Teilen des Deutschen Reiches; die sächsische Landesanstalt Großschweidnitz war solch eine »Sterbeanstalt«. Das Geschehen in Großschweidnitz bildet den Schwerpunkt des Bandes. Verschiedene Beiträge verorten die Landesanstalt innerhalb des sächsischen Anstaltsgefüges und beleuchten ihre Funktion während der NS-Zeit, in der Großschweidnitz zu einem Durchgangsort für »T4«-Transporte, aber eben auch selbst zu einem Ort des Todes wurde. Die Opfer, die nicht nur aus Sachsen stammten, und der lange Weg der gesellschaftlichen Aufarbeitung der Verbrechen werden ebenso thematisiert wie die aktuellen Bemühungen um ein Gedenkbuch für die Opfer der NS-»Euthanasie« in und aus Sachsen. Anhand weiterer regionaler Beispiele wird der Frage nachgegangen, wie mit den Krankenmorden und den Akteuren nach 1945 umgegangen wurde. In der Tradition des Arbeitskreises, der sich nicht nur die Erforschung der NS-Zwangssterilisation und Krankenmorde zum Ziel gesetzt hat, sondern auch aktuelle bioethische Fragen aufgreift, schließt der Band mit der Stellungnahme des Arbeitskreises zur ärztlichen Suizidbeihilfe ab. 188 pp. Deutsch.
