Neuware - An algorithm is presented to simulate fluid dynamics on a three qubit type II quantum computer: a lattice of small quantum computers that communicate classical information. The algorithm presented is called a three qubit factorized quantum lattice gas algorithm. It is modeled after classic…al lattice gas algorithms which move virtual particles along an imaginary lattice and change the particles' momentums using collision rules when they meet at a lattice node. Instead of moving particles, the quantum algorithm presented here moves probabilities, which interact via a unitary collision operator. Probabilities are determined using ensemble measurement and are moved with classical communications channels. The lattice node spacing is defined to be a microscopic scale length. A mesoscopic governing equation for the lattice is derived for the most general three qubit collision operator which preserves particle number. In the continuum limit of the lattice, a governing macroscopic partial differential equation--the diffusion equation--is derived for a particular collision operator using a Chapman- Enskog expansion. A numerical simulation of the algorithm is carried out on a conventional desktop computer and compared to the analytic solution of the diffusion equation. The simulation agrees very well with the known solution.

Dark brown cloth rubbed with some stains and soiling; board corners bumped and frayed; shallow cloth loss at frayed spine ends; front board…'s gilt stamped lettering remains fairly bright. Text block edges toned and soiled with small stains. Swath of black marker obscuring past owner's ink signature on front free endpaper; leadoff b/w portrait plate of Charles Guiteau remains bound-in but successive six plates and Scoville's "Introduction" (pages i-ix) are detached and laid-in; remaining quires remain firm; faint margin toning/foxing and scattered light soiling to interior leaves. Tears to surface paper along hinges but otherwise those remain firm. Initial two quires need re-stitching and thus sold as is. Book now presented in a trimmed clear Dura-Lar (polyester film) sheet forming a dj and enhancing shelf appearance. Features the rantings of the insane assassin of President James Garfield which Guiteau authored/compiled while awaiting and during his 1882 trial and published posthumously in 1883 by George Scoville who was his defense attorney and brother-in-law. In his Introduction Scoville notes that the book was first printed in 1882 during the trail and issued in a paper-bound (i.e. wrappers) edition of 1000 but, with only a few copies sold before Guiteau's hanging, the remaining stock landed in Scoville's possession upon his payment of the arrears balance owed to the printer. Scoville comments that he offers the book "as a curiosity, and . . . had them bound in cloth, inserting this introduction . . . [and] inserting cuts of the presiding Judge, of counsel, and of the prisoner." These additions and the replacement of the original wrappers should technically make this book a second edition despite the inclusion of first edition sheets.
