Large 4to. Half maroon morocco gilt, recased with new endpapers, signs of wear to extremities. 58 pages full of chromo-litho scraps and Christmas, Easter and New Year's cards handsomely arranged. Includes lift the flap and two animated pop-up cards, very scarce. Scraps arranged around cards include flowers, birds, wings, butterf…lies, frogs, amphibians, horses, children, gilt leaves etc. and tend to be placed in categories. The cards are good examples of the top Victorian manufacturers and include those produced by Marcus Ward and Benjamin Sulman, there is even one by the "Father of the American Christmas Card", Louis Prang. Pages are dog-eared and a couple of cards lack portions o/w a fabulous collection. Please enquire for more details and photographs.

L'album da…te vraisemblablement du milieu du 19e s. Le thème principal est l'histoire des Pays-Bas. Contient e.a. portraits des Députés de L'Assemblé nationale française, Conseil des Cinq-cents, grandes portraits des figures politiques de la guerre de religion, 12 belles petites gravures de J. Kobell (tête de chevaux, vaches., Page de titre des éditions in-folio des ouvrages de Lessius (de Justitia et Jure). Galenus, in-folio , édition Venise 1541, (gravure sur bois). maintes petits portraits coupés des livres, ainsi que des scènes sorties des livres. Scènes de la guerre de religion, exécution de Jauregui, comte d'Egmont.enterrement de Guillaume IV d'Orange à Delft, pages d'un épitaphier.Des grandes gravures sortant des missels in-folio. .L'Album est un bon exemple du gout de l'époque (avant la photographie) d'une collection de gravures.
