Hardcover. Condizione: Good. 2nd Edition. This is the 1901 edition of the "Gospel of Saint Mark" issued as a single volume within series "The New-Century Bible". This was a multi-volume Bible wherein each book of the Bible was issued in a separate, handy, pocket size. The general series was edited by Walter F. Adeney (1849 - 1920), and the volume with "Saint Mark", was edited by S. D. F. Salmond. "The New Century Bible" presented each book of the Bible with the "Authorized Version", followed by the "Revised Version" supplemented with voluminous notes. There are an Index and a color map of the region around Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee. The Authorized Version of 1881 is presented text-only. The Revised Version of 1885 is presented with text and notes. CONDITION -- GOOD PLUS ONLY -- This is a previously owned book which is rough on the exterior but remains clean and serviceable inside, with the following particulars noted :: EXTERIOR - Foot of spine is compressed and has a small tear, as well as fraying - there has been small, neatly effected, mending to the foot of the spine (but I think this must be fragile mending); spine surface is faded, but gilt lettering is bright. Front board has but mild surface rub, and gilt lettering is bright; rear board has weathering along spine , a touch of transparent spotting and modest rub. Text-block edges are toned, else clean. BINDING - Solid. INTERIOR - Clean and unmarked throughout. I thought I spied some small pencil erasures in the margins of the Introduction, but upon perusing again find them barely perceptible, and negligible in effect. The color map is pretty and displays brightly.
